At Solar Pool USA, we’re all about smarter energy use, and the EnergyGuard™ GeoBubble™ Solar Pool Cover is the ultimate in performance and savings. Designed with advanced GeoBubble™ technology, this cover captures and retains heat while blocking UV radiation to prevent algae growth and reduce chemical loss. Its unique dark-grey surface absorbs solar energy efficiently, maintaining warm, comfortable water even during cooler months.
This cover doesn’t just save heat, it saves money. By reducing evaporation by up to 98%, EnergyGuard™ minimizes water and energy waste while protecting your pool from debris and sunlight exposure. Built from durable, UV-stabilized materials, it lasts significantly longer than standard covers, providing reliable performance season after season.

Maximizing pool temperature and inhibiting algae growth at the same time is now possible with award-winning winter pool cover material, meaning there is no need to compromise between temperature and chemical savings.
Perfect for use as both a Summer and winter pool cover, EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission offers algae inhibition and optimized solar gains, making it the most innovative solar cover to date.
Effective against algae growth, the patented EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission is an effective winter pool cover, and can be left on your pool for the entire off-season, safe in the knowledge that cleaning and opening up your pool for the summer will be a breeze.

The EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission summer and winter pool cover material was awarded the 2018 Business Innovation Award for delivering significant societal and economic impact through the application of Physics.

The bubble layer of the material uses a midnight blue pigment which gives the material its selective transmission properties. The dual-purpose summer and winter pool cover material works as a selective filter absorbing the visible wavelengths responsible for photosynthesis. This absorbed energy is passed to the pool through conduction, while the transmission properties of the bubble layer allow for Infrared radiation (IR) to pass through the material and be directly absorbed by the water.

As well as preventing debris from entering the pool, EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission helps maintain a pleasant, warm swimming environment by inhibiting algae growth. Perfect for use as a winter pool cover, EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission can dramatically reduce the cost and time spent on maintenance of your pool.

The unique profile of the GeoBubble™ technology air cells provide this summer and winter pool cover with both buoyancy and an insulative air gap to control heat transfer enabling the material to manage the pool environment and keep the pool and the desired temperature.

Our materials reduce water losses through evaporation by working as a barrier between the water’s surface and the atmosphere. By simply covering the pool with the summer and winter pool cover, evaporation is reduced by over 98%, resulting in the preservation of the water resources and increased temperature within the swimming pool.

GeoBubble™ covers use a patented bubble-cell design that lasts longer and retains more heat than traditional covers. They reduce evaporation, block UV damage, and lower chemical use — giving you cleaner, warmer water and real energy savings.
When used daily, GeoBubble™ covers can reduce heat loss by up to 70% and cut energy consumption by up to 50%. Read more at the U.S. Department of Energy .
We offer four types — EnergyGuard™, CoolGuard™, RaeGuard™, and Sol+Guard™ — each designed for different climates and goals, from heat retention to temperature control.
Developed by UK-based manufacturer Plastipack Ltd in collaboration with two UK universities, the patented GeoBubble design was created to fix the weaknesses of traditional round-bubble covers and make them more durable. After five years of development, the technology launched in 2012 and has been sold worldwide. Some customers in the UK and Italy report using their GeoBubble covers for over 10 years.
Most orders ship within 1–2 business days. Standard delivery takes 3–7 business days within the continental U.S. Oversized or specialty items (like solar reels or heating kits) may take 5–10 business days.
We ship from both our California and Tennessee fulfillment centers, though some items may ship from partner warehouses to ensure the fastest delivery.
At this time, we currently ship only within the United States.
Once your order ships, you’ll receive an email with a tracking link so you can follow your delivery in real time.
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for new, unused products in original packaging. Custom-sized or made-to-order items (like cut-to-fit covers) may not be eligible or may include a restocking fee. See our full Returns Policy for details.
Email orders@solarpoolusa.com with your order number, photos (if applicable), and a short note explaining the reason for return. We’ll reply with next steps and an RMA number.
Yes. Standard items may have a 10% restocking fee; custom or special orders may have up to 25%, depending on the product.
GeoBubble™ covers are engineered to dramatically improve your pool’s energy efficiency — helping you cut heating and chemical costs by up to 70% while keeping your water cleaner and more comfortable year-round.
Each solar cover features an advanced bubble design that traps and retains solar heat when it’s cool and reflects excess warmth when temperatures rise, creating a more stable, balanced swimming environment.
This smart technology helps reduce evaporation, conserve energy, and extend your swimming season naturally — without the high cost of traditional heating or cooling systems.
And because they’re made with durable, UV-resistant materials, every GeoBubble™ cover is backed by a 6-year manufacturer’s warranty, giving you confidence that your investment will last season after season.
It depends on your goals and climate:
Yes. Lay it over your pool and trim with scissors to fit your shape — leave a small overlap for best results.
Rinse, dry, and store in a shaded area or use a Solar Cover Protector to prevent UV damage.
A GeoBubble™ cover isn’t just another solar pool cover or blanket, it’s built to perform and made to last. While the upfront cost is a bit higher than a standard cover, the difference quickly pays for itself through noticeable savings and less upkeep.
Each cover is crafted from specialized materials designed to withstand sunlight, chemicals, and everyday wear, so it holds up season after season without thinning, cracking, or fading like ordinary covers.
You’ll also notice a cleaner pool, more stable water temperature, and less time spent topping off water or balancing chemicals. In short, you’re not just buying a cover — you’re investing in lower utility bills, less maintenance, and longer-lasting protection for your pool.
Water circulates through solar panels that absorb heat from the sun, returning warmer water to your pool — giving you free, renewable heat.
Not at all! Most homeowners with basic tools can install them in a few hours. We include step-by-step instructions, and our support team can help if needed.
Depending on your location and pool size, you can save up to 70% on energy costs versus gas or electric heaters. DOE Source
